A fatal road traffic accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, September 25, at the Tema Valco Roundabout, claiming the life of a driver whose identity is yet to be confirmed.
According to a statement posted by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the accident involved a Toyota saloon car, bearing registration number GR-2773-25, which veered off the road and crashed into a security camera pole.
Personnel from the Tema Metro Fire Station responded promptly to the distress call. Upon arrival, they found the car severely damaged, its airbags deflated, and the lone occupant trapped inside the wreckage.

GNFS reported that it took fire officers approximately ten minutes to extricate the body from the mangled vehicle. The deceased was then handed over to the Ghana Police Service, and the body has since been deposited at the Tema General Hospital Morgue.

The wrecked vehicle has been towed to the Tema Community 1 Police Station for further inspection.
The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash and are currently working to establish the identity of the deceased driver.

The Ghana National Fire Service has extended its condolences to the family of the deceased and used the occasion to remind motorists of the importance of road safety, particularly during early morning and late-night hours when visibility and fatigue may be contributing factors to such accidents.
