Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that, as part of ongoing reforms within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), electoral area coordinators should be allowed to vote in the party's regional executive elections.
Although electoral area coordinators are currently eligible to vote in the election of the party's presidential candidate, they are not permitted to participate in the election of regional officers—a situation Dr. Bawumia described as an anomaly that must be corrected to promote greater inclusion and participation at all levels of the party.
"Today, electoral area coordinators cannot vote slot deposit pulsa during elections to elect regional executives, and I think this should change," Dr. Bawumia said on Wednesday in Sene West, at the start of his national campaign tour for the NPP presidential primaries.
"I will push for an amendment at the next Congress to ensure that our hardworking electoral area coordinators can also take part in elections to elect our regional executives."
Dr. Bawumia’s announcement was met with loud applause from the electoral area coordinators present.
