Ghanaian Afrofusion artiste Kelalie, known in private life as Godson Selasie K. Kwame, has released a new single titled Monica.
This is a prelude to his upcoming debut EP titled Lover Boy, expected to drop on November 14, 2025, under Crux Global record label.
Monica is described as an infectious blend of bounce, rhythm and emotion. It tells a captivating story of desire, vulnerability and the longing for genuine connection. Through his delivery, Kelalie paints a picture of a woman so magnetic she feels like healing itself, yet mysterious enough to keep him chasing.
Speaking about the song, Kelalie said: “Monica is more than a love song; it is a reflection of how attraction can feel hypnotic and dangerous at the same time.”
Produced with rich Afrofusion textures and spiritual undertones, Monica bridges traditional Ghanaian emotion with contemporary global sound. The record introduces the tone for Lover Boy, a six-track exploration of love, faith and emotional growth that is expected to cement Kelalie’s place as one of Ghana’s most distinct new voices.
The rollout for the single includes a social media challenge, campus activations and live appearances as part of the Lover Boy campaign. Fans can look forward to behind-the-scenes clips, interviews and intimate storytelling moments leading up to the full EP release.
Kelalie, who draws influence from gospel, highlife and soul, is known for his emotive voice and spiritually grounded sound. His artistry reflects both his Ewe heritage and his faith, blending Ghanaian roots with global rhythms.
With Lover Boy in the picture, Kelalie is positioning himself as part of Ghana’s new wave of musicians crafting authentic, soulful and globally resonant music.
Now signed under Crux Global, Kelalie represents a generation of culturally rooted yet globally minded Ghanaian artists determined to carry the nation’s sound to the world.
