Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren says he would like to have a long camp with the team before they jet off for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ghana secured a return to the continental tournament after a 7-0 aggregate win over Egypt in the final round of qualifiers for the 2026 edition.
Bjorkegren took the Queens to the last edition, which was staged in Morocco, where the team finished third and won the bronze medal despite the gaffer spending limited time with the group.
Heading into next year's tournament, the Swede has revealed his desire to have a prolonged stay and preparation with the team.
"I would love it if we could stay together for a couple of weeks before the tournament (WAFCON) starts," he told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview.
"That is something we will take a good look at now that we have qualified for the WAFCON. It depends a little bit on the FIFA window and all those kinds of things, but that time really helps us when we can spend more time training, meeting, and getting together.
"Otherwise, it’s difficult when you only have like two or three trainings and you have just two games because…That holy time will make the difference if we can have it."
While the WAFCON qualification is done, the Black Queens begin their preparation with a friendly against England on December 2.
