Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has announced that the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, will present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Addressing the House on Tuesday, November 11, the Speaker said the presentation will be done in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates the government to lay before Parliament its revenue and expenditure plans for the upcoming financial year.
"Honourable members, I have a correspondent confirming the date that the Minister for Finance will appear before the House to present the 2026 Budget Statement of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, on Thursday, 13th November, 2026."
The 2026 Budget Statement is expected to outline the government’s fiscal strategy, revenue measures, spending priorities and economic policies for the year ending 31st December 2026.
It will also provide updates on the performance of key sectors, ongoing reforms, and initiatives aimed at stabilising and growing the economy.
The budget, once presented, will be debated by Parliament before the approval process begins.
