The National Anti-illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) Task force has launched an audacious dawn operation to flush out galamseyers from a notorious illegal mining site nicknamed ‘Yellow face’ at Wassa Abrehyia in the Western Region.
The unexpected presence of the NAIMOS task force deterred inhabitants of the area with the galamseyers fleeing to escape arrest.
The task force subsequently raided the area and set ablaze some makeshift structures and other equipment used for illegal mining at the Site.

The raids also revealed massive use of illicit drugs and dynamite at the illegal mining site.

NAIMOS would continue such surgical operations in the coming days and weeks to disrupt the activities of illegal miners and rid the areas of the illicit drugs menace.
