Basake Holy Stars recorded an important 1–0 victory over Nations FC on Sunday at the Ampain AAK II Sports Arena City, extending their recent revival and climbing out of the relegation places.
In-form striker Prince Tweneboah delivered the decisive moment, scoring early in the second half to register his second goal in two games, following his late winner against Asante Kotoko in midweek. The goal secured Holy Stars’ first back-to-back wins of the season and boosted their momentum in the Premier League campaign.
Nations FC enjoyed slightly more possession but struggled to create clear chances in the final third. Holy Stars, meanwhile, remained compact and organised, taking control of key moments of the match.
After Tweneboah’s opener, the hosts defended resolutely to protect their lead and secure three crucial points.
