The Executive Director of the REFFA Awards, Mrs Selassie Ibrahim, has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, ahead of the Regal Film Festival and Awards 2025.
The visit formed part of preparations toward the maiden edition of the awards, which is set to reward and celebrate the movie industry across the African continent and the diaspora.
Mrs Selassie Ibrahim also used the opportunity to ask for the blessings of the overlord of the Ga State and to formally invite him to the awards night.
During the visit, the Executive Director highlighted the contribution of the Ga Mantse to the creative industry and thanked him for always opening his doors to creatives anytime they call on him. She also thanked the King for accepting to honour this year’s event.
In his speech, the Ga Mantse thanked Mrs Selassie Ibrahim for calling on him and accepted the invitation, assuring her of his full support.

The Regal Film Festival and Awards serves as a hub for creative exchange, film appreciation and the recognition of cinematic talent across Africa and the diaspora.
The nominated films will compete in various award categories, culminating in the Awards Night scheduled for 13 December 2025 in Accra, Ghana.
Beyond the competition, this year’s festival programme will feature industry masterclasses, panel discussions and networking events aimed at bridging the gap between creativity, technology and financing in Africa’s film ecosystem.
The festival is scheduled to take place from 10th December to 12th December 2025.
Entries were received from across Africa and beyond.
