The Ghana Police Service has rescued a young woman seen in a viral video crying for help with a visibly injured left eye and has arrested the man allegedly responsible for the assault.
According to a police statement, the operation was carried out by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team, which launched an urgent intelligence-led search after the video began circulating online.
The team tracked the individuals to Okushibri near Apollonia, where both the victim and the suspect were found.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, identified as Bright Kpodo, also known as Horror, is the victim’s partner and is alleged to have physically abused her, leading to the injuries captured in the video.
Kpodo is currently in police custody, assisting with further investigations. Meanwhile, arrangements are underway to ensure the victim receives the necessary medical and psychological support.
The Police Service urged the public to promptly report all incidents of domestic violence for swift action and prosecution.
