Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to place unity at the heart of their political agenda.
He noted that unity is essential for the party’s future strength and its ability to govern effectively.
In an interview on The Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso on Sunday, Mr. Kufuor appealed to party faithful to put aside internal tensions and rally behind the core values that define the NPP.
“Unity is key to the NPP’s future progress. We might not be friends or allies, but because we all believe in the principles and ideals of the party, it is important to unite to push the party,” he said.
The former President underscored that unity is not only vital for winning elections but also for building the credibility needed to lead the nation. He explained that voters respond positively to a party that speaks with one voice.
“Ghanaians appreciate unity. We will be able to serve Ghanaians better if we are united to serve them well when we win power,” he added.
Mr. Kufuor’s comments come at a time when party cohesion remains a central issue in national political discourse. Meanwhile, the party is scheduled to elect its flagbearer in January 2026.
