Six people have been confirmed dead and several others injured following a collision between a Hyundai Urvan minibus and a trailer on the Obuasi–Kyekyewere road in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Preliminary reports indicate that the trailer lost control upon reaching the Aboagye Motors stretch near the Obuasi Court Junction.
The vehicle is said to have veered off its path and crashed into the Hyundai Urvan, resulting in the fatalities and multiple injuries.
The bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to the Obuasi Government Hospital morgue. Meanwhile, the injured are receiving treatment at the same facility, where medical teams are working to stabilise their condition.
Local authorities have commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash and to establish whether any mechanical failure, human error, or other contributory factors were involved.
