Asante Kotoko ended their four-match winless run with a hard-earned 1–0 victory over Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, securing a vital three points in a closely contested Premier League encounter.
The match was intense and physical, with clear-cut chances at a premium for both sides.
Kwame Opoku proved decisive, scoring from close range after Dreams FC failed to properly clear their lines.
The striker, who had earlier missed a promising opportunity, showed composure to guide a left-footed effort past goalkeeper Osman Rahman.
Dreams FC mounted late pressure in search of an equaliser and came closest in the closing stages, but their effort was cleared off the line as Kotoko held firm under sustained pressure.
Both sides showed visible signs of fatigue at full time, reflecting the demanding nature of the contest.
Kotoko enjoyed a slight advantage in possession, while both teams finished with the same number of shots on target.
The result lifts the Porcupine Warriors to third place on the league table, while Dreams FC slip back into the relegation zone.
