New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong, has urged party members to prioritise unity beyond the party’s internal presidential primaries, stressing that cohesion is critical to securing victory in the 2028 general election.
The former Member of Parliament made the call at the First Love Church in Accra, where he hosted the Ken National Praise 2026 event for party delegates, members and the general public to usher in the new year and give thanks to God for His protection.
“We are all here tonight for one simple reason: to thank God. This is not a political event. It is not about ambition or competition. It is a moment to pause and acknowledge God’s hand over our lives and our nation. Leadership comes from God, not from chaos. Elections will pass, but unity must remain,” he said.
The praise event, held on the theme “United in Praise”, drawn from Psalm 150:6 — “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord” — attracted an ecstatic crowd and featured praise and worship sessions led by more than thirty Ghanaian gospel artistes.
Over one hundred reverend ministers, church leaders and members of the clergy were in attendance.
Gospel artistes who ministered on the night included DSP Kofi Sarpong, Stella Aba Seal, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, MOG, Cecilia Marfo, Philipa Baafi, Selina Boateng, Grace Ashley, Uncle Ato, Great Ampong and Joyce Blessing, among others.

The NPP is scheduled to elect its flagbearer for the 2028 general election on 31 January 2026. Kennedy Agyapong is among the leading contenders in a race that includes former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Kwabena Agyapong and Dr Bryan Acheampong.
In a Facebook post after the event, Mr Agyapong expressed gratitude to participants.
“I sincerely thank all Pastors, Prophets, Reverend Ministers, Gospel Ministers, Organisers, Party Delegates and Non-Delegates, and every Ghanaian who joined us for Ken’s National Praise 2026.

Your prayers, presence, and support made this gathering a powerful moment of thanksgiving, unity, and hope. May God richly bless you all, and may His peace continue to rest upon our beloved nation, Ghana.”
