The National Chief Imam of Ghana, Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has appointed Alhaji Osumanu Seidu as the new Executive Secretary to his Office.
Seidu, who is a CAF Licence A football coach, replaces Alhaji Awaisu Bio, who passed away in November 2025.
The Office of the National Chief Imam described the appointment as “necessary” for Osumanu, who “worked closely under the late executive secretary.”
“As you execute your mandate as the head of the Secretariat, it is expected of you to uphold the sanctity, integrity, and credibility of the Office to the best of your ability.”
“I hope that you will discharge your duty with diligence and dedication to justify the appointment,” Sheikh Sharubutu said in a statement.
All Regional Chief Imams and Islamic organisations have been notified of the appointment.
Osumanu has begun work with immediate effect and was instrumental in the successful funeral rites of the late Ayawaso East MP, Naser Toure Mahama.
