The IBF congratulated Laryea for achieving the feat while also expressing confidence in his ability to represent the organisation with "honour, distinction and integrity" going forward.
He received an official commendation in a letter released by the IBF dated January 12, 2026.
The letter was signed by Carlos Ortiz, Jr., Vice – Championships Chairman, International Boxing Federation and copied Daryl Peoples, George Martinez and Ben Keilty.
