Belgian giants Anderlecht and English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have reportedly joined the chase for IF Elfsborg and Ghana forward Jalal Abdullai following an impressive loan spell with Norwegian club Molde FK.

Abdullai (21 years) moved to Molde in March 2025 on loan from Elfsborg, with the agreement including a purchase option for the Norwegian side.

The switch has proven fruitful, with the attacker quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Molde’s setup.

He ended the 2025 season as Molde’s top scorer, netting nine goals and providing one assist in 24 appearances across all competitions. Four of those goals came in the Eliteserien, with the remainder scored in the Norwegian Cup and UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Molde are understood to be keen on making the deal permanent by activating the purchase option. However, Abdullai’s standout performances have drawn interest from several clubs across Europe.

According to Belgian outlet Voetbalnieuws, Anderlecht are closely monitoring the player’s situation. Belgian rivals KRC Genk, Danish sides FC Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen, as well as English Championship clubs QPR, Middlesbrough and Preston North End, are also said to be tracking the forward.

With Abdullai’s stock on the rise after a strong campaign in Norway, IF Elfsborg are believed to be open to a sale, provided their valuation is met, setting up a potential transfer tussle ahead of the next window.
