Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo admits Ghana's game against England will be a 'challenge' but believes they will go into the fixture wanting to prove a point.
Ghana and England have been drawn in the same group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Canada, Mexico and USA and are joined by Croatia and Panama.
The fixture will be the first meeting between the two teams since their friendly in October 2011.
Having spent all of his playing career in England and now playing for Manchester City, Semenyo was quizzed about the upcoming game against the Three Lions and the banter shared amongst the players.
"There’s been a small talk, but as Ghanaians, we know it’s going to be a challenge; they are a star-studded team, they have so many top-class players, but we believe in ourselves," he told CBS Sports Golazo.
"We want to show people around the world that Ghana are one of the top nations as well, and that we can compete with the best.
"There’s been a little bit [of banter], but we will wait and see."
