A statement signed by Mr David Sebastian Damoah, the Director, Media Relations Department, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, said
Bishop Francis Bomansaan, M.Afr., praised the Speaker’s exceptional statesmanship and passion for the underprivileged, saying, “Upper West and Ghana are privileged to have a selfless servant leader and virtuous Catholic as Speaker of Parliament.”
It said a citation presented to the Speaker described him as “a paragon of humility, service, love, and integrity… a towering figure whose honesty is a light leading the world out of darkness.”
According to the statement, in response, Bagbin expressed gratitude, saying, “The Catholic Church is very instrumental in the development of Ghana, especially in underprivileged regions such as Upper West. The Church is the foundation stone of development in Northern Ghana.”
