Ghanaian songstress S3fa has opened up about the emotional toll of social media criticism, revealing that a harsh comment questioning her intelligence and talent once left her deeply hurt.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the “E Choke” hitmaker disclosed that some social media users even attempted to dissuade her boss, D-Black, from investing in her career.
“One thing that really broke me was one time when I went on Twitter. Somebody was like, ‘I feel like D-Black is wasting his money on S3fa. She’s talentless, a nice girl but just brainless,’” she recounted.
S3fa explained that the comment struck a nerve because it ignored the hard work, sacrifices, and personal investment she had made behind the scenes to build her music career.
“In my mind, I’m like, you don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. You don’t know how much work I put in or how much investment I’ve made. To sit on social media and say I am just beauty without brains, it was very disturbing,” she said.
She added that being judged solely on her appearance was particularly painful.
Despite the emotional setback, S3fa said the criticism ultimately became a turning point, motivating her to work harder and prove her worth.
The singer is currently regarded as one of the notable female voices in Ghana’s contemporary music scene, with several hit songs and collaborations to her credit.
