The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has dismissed allegations that it awarded an office renovation contract worth GHS11 million to a company owned by Mr Stan Dogbe, a presidential staffer, through sole-sourcing.
GoldBod clarified that the contract was awarded through a restricted tendering process approved by the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).
In a statement, GoldBod explained that, after its establishment in April 2025, the Board undertook a major recruitment drive, bringing on board over 300 new staff and expanding its organisational structure.
This necessitated relocating from the former PMMC offices at Diamond House to the old Bank of Ghana Head Office on Thorpe Road, Accra, which required significant renovation.
“The mischievous claim that the contract was sole-sourced is completely false,” the Board said.
“Three entities were shortlisted for the tender, with Correca Ghana Limited emerging as the winning contractor. The works have since been completed professionally and on schedule.”
GoldBod emphasised that approval to use restricted tendering was sought on May 26, 2025, and granted by the PPA on June 24, 2025.
“We have attached all relevant documentation, demonstrating that the procurement process was transparent, competitive, and fully compliant with the law,” the Board added.
In line with its commitment to accountability, GoldBod also published the contract on its official website on March 10.
“The suggestion that any documents were intercepted or hidden is entirely false. The Ghana Gold Board remains committed to transparency and urges the public to disregard unfounded claims,” the statement concluded.
