Ghana kit sponsor, PUMA, has revealed the inspiration behind the recent design of Black Stars’ kits for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
The kits, which were unveiled on March 19, 2026, in New York City, are, per PUMA, “…unapologetic, and built to stand out.”
The home kit (white jersey), the company says, draws inspiration from Ghana’s national identity, energy, and rhythm.
“Pure energy,” PUMA said in an email to Joy Sports’ Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.

It explained that the “…white base is overtaken by bold geometric patterns in vibrant gradients of red, yellow, and green — the national colours brought to life through rhythm and motion.
“The iconic Black Star anchors the design front and centre. Celebratory, unapologetic, and built to stand out.”
The design reflects a fusion of movement and colour, with the Black Star serving as the central symbol of pride and unity.

For the away kit (yellow jersey), PUMA turned to Ghana’s cultural heritage, particularly the influence of traditional fabric and symbolism.
The company believes it is “radiating power and optimism, the golden [which] commands attention.
“An all-over Kente-inspired pattern adds cultural depth, while red trim and the Black Star tie the design back to Ghanaian heritage.”
Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan joined PUMA in New York to unveil the shirts last week.

He said, “PUMA has been our main sponsor for more than a decade in Ghana, and in a World Cup year, to have the national team jerseys and everything, I’m very happy to be a part of it.
“Personally, when I was playing, I was working with PUMA, so I know what PUMA has done for me and what PUMA is doing for my country as well, and other countries. So I’m here for PUMA.”
