The trial of Kwaw Kese, who is accused of fraud, was on Tuesday adjourned to October 14.
This was as a result of non-appearance of Ms Francisca Okai, the forth prosecution witness, in court when the case was called. The court was also entering its legal vacation, which starts, from August 1 until October 14 2009.
Kwaw Kese did not appear in court because the court had given him permission to travel outside the country. Mr. Felix Okyere represented Kese at the court.
Kese's counsel, Naa Nortey, on July 13 prayed the court to grant her client the permission to absent himself from court at its next sitting.
Naa Nortey told the court that Kese would be travelling outside the country, saying that trip had been scheduled before the commencement of the trial.
According to her, if she did not seek permission, a bench warrant would be issued to arrest her client. The practice, she noted was done in criminal cases whenever an accused did not turn up in court.
