The Police in Tema have intercepted 866 parcels of a white powdered substance suspected to be cocaine. They were concealed in sacks of gari.
The seizure followed an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Police at about 8 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Three suspects, including a Dutch national and two Ghanaians, have been arrested in connection with the consignment.
Sources close to the operation told Graphic Online's Benjamin Xornam Glover that the suspects were picked up while supervising a group of men loading sacks of gari and 'konkonte' into a 40-foot container for export at a warehouse within the Tema Port enclave.
The suspects, together with the truck and the intercepted parcels, are currently in police custody for further investigations.
