Corporate organisations and institutions have donated cash, food, medical supplies and other essential items to support victims of the June 29, 2026 flood disaster.

The donations were presented to the Office of the President as part of ongoing efforts to provide relief to communities affected by the torrential rains and flooding, particularly in Accra.

Senior government officials, including Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration), Nana Oye Bampoe Addo; Legal Advisor to the President, Marietta Brew; and Presidential Adviser and Special Aide, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, received the donations on behalf of the government.

Two organisations also presented cash contributions towards the relief effort.

SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited donated GH¢200,000, while the Ghana Institute of Surveyors contributed GH¢50,000.

Among the largest donations was a package from the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and Companies, which provided a wide range of food, medical and household supplies.

The donation included 1,112 bags of rice, 4,000 bags of sachet water, 500 cartons of sunflower oil, 490 cartons of Frytol oil, 490 cartons of canned mackerel, 646 cartons of gari and 501 cartons of spaghetti.

The association also donated 295 cartons of sardines, 235 cartons of biscuits, 208 cartons of tomato paste, 50 cartons of shito and other provisions.

Its medical and sanitation supplies included 2,000 malaria rapid test kits, 800 HPV test kits, anti-malaria medication, hand sanitiser and disinfectant.

The relief package further included 3,000 sleeping mats, 400 school bags, 3,200 T-shirts, 3,100 plastic buckets, 3,000 plastic basins and five 2,000-litre stainless steel water tanks.

The association also supplied chest freezers, electric cookers, electric fans, shovels, mosquito coils and temporary shelter and bedding materials.

Other major donations

Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana), supported by the Multimedia Group's flood relief campaign, donated 1,400 student mattresses, 1,192 blankets and 998 relief boxes containing food items, blankets, mosquito repellents, mosquito nets and detergents.

Sentuo Group Limited contributed 4,000 bags of 25kg rice, 600 bags of 50kg sugar and 387 boxes of granular maize.

Ecobank Ghana donated medicines and other medical supplies, alongside 1,000 bags of sachet water, 195 mattresses, 250 blankets and bales of used clothing for men, women and children.

Softcare FM Manufacturing Company Limited also donated 100 bags of washing powder, 100 boxes of soap, 100 boxes of sanitary pads and 50 boxes of baby diapers.

B5 Plus Limited contributed 70 bags of 50kg rice, 100 bags of 50kg maize, 50 cartons of Cerelac, 75 jerrycans of cooking oil, sardines, bottled water and other relief items.

Its donation also included 200 blankets, 200 two-litre jerrycans, 150 mosquito nets, 100 pairs of Wellington boots and 100 raincoats.

Eezzy Group donated rice, spaghetti, canned beef, sardines, tomato paste, cooking oil, seasoning powders and baking supplies.

Tobinco Group provided 100 boxes of Omal antiseptic, 5,000 gallons of Omal liquid soap and 400 gallons of Omazone bleach.

Kam Trading & Farms Limited also contributed 445 bags of 25kg rice.

The donations form part of a wider response to the devastating flooding of June 29, which left several communities in Accra and other parts of the country severely affected.

The government has since been coordinating relief and recovery efforts, while corporate organisations, civil society groups and other institutions have mobilised resources to support affected households.

The latest contributions are expected to help provide immediate necessities, including food, clean water, medicines, bedding, sanitation products and other household items, as affected communities work towards recovery.
