On Friday, the remaining six contestants in the ongoing Stars of The Future singing competition were made to prove themselves on songs selected by the judges for them based on their individual strengths. All six pulled some amazing performances on the night to rapturous acceptance among the audience and even from the judges. Akosua opened the night with a cool and controlled rendition of the classic hit, ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor scoring high on the cards of the judges. This was followed by the swing and throwback provided by Bertha when she took on Gladys Night’s ‘Midnight Train to Georgia’, again scoring high on with the judges. The girls completed a perfect score when Nyaniba brought home ‘Something Inside So Strong’ safely. The boys had their chance to shine and Christian kicked it off on a good note when he did Kojo Antwi’s vocally challenging and dynamic song, ‘Me Dware’. Luigi was unable to continue the good run when he had a slightly weak take on Luther Vandross’ ‘Power of love’. The judges felt that he sounded flat and didn’t do much with classic song. Enoch closed the night with his nice interpretation of Louis Armstrong’s ‘Wonderful World’ and scored a mixed reaction with the judges. Christian won the MTN Golden Moment Award for his performance in the previous week. There are two more evictions left until the finale. Who would be the first to leave, the choice would be know after the results of the public voting for this week is revealed next Tuesday. Credit: GHP
