Indications are that One of Ghana’s best tongue-twisting fast rappers, Pope Skinny, is on the move to take the Hip Life duo Bradez, who are the kid brothers of the 2008 MTN, Ghana Music Awards multiple awards winner, Okyeame Kwame, to the cleaners in an ensuing lyrical battle between him and the duo.
Pope Skinny revealed that he was insulted by a line in the duo’s latest hit-single that was titled “simple.”
According to him, his name was negatively linked to a derogatory line in the song, which is now attracting massive airplay throughout Ghana.
“I am hurt. It pained me. People kept asking me what was going on,” he said.
On Radio Universe’s Week-end Teaser entertainment programme, the host, Caleb Adjomah wondered why his colleagues wanted to engage him.
However, Pope Skinny didn’t mince words about his plans to reply the duo, adding “I am a lyricist. All I do is to sit home and write songs, so if something happened, and they make such remarks about me in that manner, then I am ready for whatever lyrical fight they will bring, our fans should not worry about this because they are my colleagues in the game, and we will only do it on the lyrical level,” he emphasised.
Bradez, sources told Beatwaves is making no bones about Skinny’s rage, as they prefer to remain quiet on the issue. Perhaps, the duo is waiting for the Pope to send them to the cleaners with his lyrics before they respond.
