The most anticipated album launch and hiplife concert dubbed the “Resurrection” by Obour and friends was held last Saturday.
The show that was hyped on radio to be one of the hiplife’s greatest shows saw a few of the artistes on the bill showing up. The show started quite late as the auditorium was half-packed at the beginning with artiste like Skinny Legend, Kitchen, Asaase Aban and Pope Skinnie managing to impress the crowd at the early stages.
The auditorium got electrified when No Tribe took the stage. The inspirational group got everybody including the ladies in their miniskirts on their feet dancing to their gospel tunes.
The Emcees for the night, Ama K. Abeberese and Papa Sly, added some impetus to the show as they kept the place alive with their antics.
A videography of Obuor that revealed some famous artistes journeyed through the hiplife scene set the place agog with cheers and dancing as another video of hiplife legends including Reggie Rockstone, Akyeame, Buk Bak, Lord Kenya, VIP, NFL, Keteke and Nananom was screened.
The main artiste of the day, Obour, stormed the stage in a palanquin with a cultural display of drumming and dancing.
Determined as he was to thrill his audience and give them value for their money, Obour performed another startling feat when he appeared on stage again; this time, he was not riding in palanquin, instead, he descended from the roof with his head hanging upside down on a rope amidst rapturous applauds as his sang his scintillating track “Minwu Biom”.
A well crafted performance was staged by personnel from the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) about Obour’s Road safety campaign. Obour joined them riding a motor bike to the stage.
The show was climaxed with his latest hit songs Atupa gyaen and the game featuring Richie and Okyeame Kwame.
Other artistes who performed at the show included Sherifa Gunu, Blakk Rasta, King David and Quata.
