After being the first artiste to sign onto the Lynx Entertainment record label and waiting for five years, OJ Blaq is set to hit the Ghanaian music scene with his first album ‘Biggy Boy Lover’.
OJ Blaq known in real life as Andrew Nii Akrashie in an interview with Myjoyonline said, he has been singing professionally for six years now. He revealed that he first featured on Sidney’s ‘My Sweetie’ track which was on his ‘Abuskeleke’ album.
He attributed his delay in releasing his solo album to the changes that the Ghanaian music industry has witnessed over the years, saying he wants to familiarise himself to the industry before he makes a formal entry.
OJ Blaq is no stranger to the acting industry in Ghana. He made his presence felt on Ghanaian screens when he was a part of the ‘Sun City’ television series cast.
He disclosed that although he is into music full time, he will still be involved in acting.
He is currently a part of the ‘Home Sweet Home’ television series cast and a full time freelance multimedia personality.
The 12 track album will be launched at the Aphrodisiac night club in Accra on Friday, October 9 and it features Asem, Richie, Captain Planet and a host of others.
“I hear people say I can’t do it because I have been on Sun City. They say I want to use that to sell myself. I want to prove them wrong with this album,” he said.
“I like to be criticised but not to be hated,” he added.
