The Sacromoto Fusion Band from Spain put up a splendid performance on the the final day of the Accra Jazz and World Music Festival in Accra.
The night crowned five days of outstanding performances from local and International Jazz and High life artistes.
It was under the patronage of the Accra Jazz and World Music Festival by Alliance Francaise.
Artistes who graced the festival include Balinga from Ghana, Babu from South Africa, Ayeeko Drummers from Ghana, Chico Freeman and the Squeeze Band from Switzerland, Katam from France, Andre Juame and Alain Soler from France who collaborated with Dela Botri and Arkah Blay from Ghana.
The high light of this year’s event was an art exhibition by Nii Amasah.
Mr Jean Michel Garcia, the director of the Alliance Francaise in an interview with Myjoyonline.com said “The first edition was very successful and the attendance was more than what they expected. The artistes were also fantastic.”
He said he expects a better show next year which will be a one week event starting from the beginning of October. Next year’s event will see more local artistes performing and more collaboration between Ghanaian and Foreign artistes.
Andre Juame and Alain Soler, two Jazz musicians from France who performed also told Myjoyonline that they were very excited to be in Ghana for the first time and also be a part of the Jazz and World Music Festival.
They describe the event as a wonderful experience and will be very glad to be a part of next year’s event.
