Expected guests include Kalsume Sinare, Vivian Achor, Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Prince David Osei, Joe Shortingo, Lydia Forson, Rama Brew, Kojo Dadson, Eddy Owusu Afram, Fred Nuamah, Rev. Eddie Cofie, Umar De 1st, George Williams, Van Vicker, Yvonne Nelson and Juliet Ibrahim. Others include Irene Opare, Emmanuel Armah, Nii Odoi Mensah, and Solomon Sampa.
Rising stars Beverly Afaglo, Brenda Osei Bonsu, Ingrid Alabi, Sika, Rose Ngissah, Eve Asare and Martha Ankomah, among others are expected at the launch.
The GhallyGold Awards is being organized by Item 3 House, an event management company, in collaboration with the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG). Tonight’s affair will be used to unveil the plaque of the event.
Last year, FIPAG declared its support for the award and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Item 3 House to organize the awards.
The ceremony will hit the industry with a bang early this year, but before that the acting fraternity will have to be briefed on the awards. That is one of the main objectives of the ceremony tonight.
The awards, initially scheduled to take place last year, was put on hold due to delays in getting all stakeholders on board. After the launch, it is believed that it will be known by every Tom, Dick and Harry in the industry that will be needed to make the award ceremony a success.
For the past three years, the Ghanaian movie industry has not had any award ceremony to honour its stakeholders after the Ghana Actors’ Guild held the last one.
Item 3 House’s readiness to organize the awards for the industry is seen as a step in the right direction.
