Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not about to split up according to legal statements issued by their lawyers.
Brangelina, as the couple are known, have begun legal proceedings against News Group Newspapers Ltd following allegations about their relationship.
The News of the World reported in early January that the couple had signed a separation deal to divide their £205m fortune.
The newspaper said the couple had agreed to share custody of their children and split the money evenly.
But the pair, who have three adopted and three biological children, deny the claims.
Keith Schilling of Schillings, the couple's London lawyers, said the paper failed to meet "reasonable demands" for a retraction and an apology.
He said the "false and intrusive allegations" were widely republished by mainstream news outlets.
He also said Sorrell Trope, a divorce lawyer in Los Angeles, denied claims she had been in contact with the couple.
At the time other celebrity news outlets said the couple were not breaking up.
People.com said sources close to the family claimed "everything is fine" with the couple.
Celebrity website TMZ.com also steered clear of the story.
It said multiple people "directly connected with the couple" said the pair are not splitting up with source saying "it's B.S".
