Eighteen students of Saltpond Methodist Senior High School have been de-bordenised for organizing a demonstration against school authorities.
The students, in February this year, demonstrated against school authorities for not providing them with ironing facilities, a charge which the authorities denied.
They destroyed louver blades and some other items in their dormitory and attempted to assault the Senior House Master and other workers.
The Very Reverend Paa Solomon Grant Essilfie, Headmaster of the School, announced this at a Parent-Teacher Association meeting on the school premises on Thursday.
He cautioned parents and guardians against defending their wards when they commit crimes in school, since students exhibit a different character in school from what they do at home.
The Headmaster appealed to parents and guardians to help teachers to mould the character of their children so that they would grow to become responsible leaders of the society.
He cautioned parents and teachers to be on their guard against the practice of homosexuality and lesbianism by their children as reports from some schools indicated that some students indulged in this canker.
The Very Rev. Essilfie announced that the school had banned receiving of calls on cell phones by teachers during classes and cautioned parents against allowing their children to bring cell phones to school.
"Any phone seized from any student will be destroyed," the Headmaster cautioned.
The Most Reverend Peter Sackey, Bishop of the Church of Christ and Chairman of the school's PTA, announced a decision to a form disciplinary committee to handle issues involving parents and teachers to ensure that perfect harmony prevails in the school.
