The University of Ghana, Legon, has extended its academic calendar for the first semester. This has become necessary because of the recent strike by university teachers. The Executive Committee of the University has extended the period for lecturing by two weeks. The University’s examinations originally scheduled for November 23 will now start on December 11. The university will also break for the Christmas and New Year holidays and vacate on January 6. The other universities are yet to decide whether to also extend their academic calendars.
