It was meant to be Dr. Mahamudu Bawumiah’s Book Launch on Ghana’s Monetary Policy from 1957 to 2008.
Policy makers, bankers, lawyers and politicians largely of the New Patriotic Party stock - from JA Kufuor, Nana Addo to Nana Ohene Ntow - were present.
The Master of Ceremony, Kwami Sefa Kayi was late; Prof Ken Attafuah pretended to hold the fort. He was crisp, straight to the point but that made many eyelids heavy. He was being 'strictly' scholastic but the audience needed a ‘comedian.’
And when Kayi arrived, the book Launch, a largely academic and marketing enterprise, was given a master touch of sidesplitting ‘concert.’
Ribs obviously cracked, jaws parted to obscure angles, broad and hollow-cheeked faces were adorned with laughter. It's all in the attached audio. As they say it, it is from the horse's own mouth. Play and listen.
