An Accra High Court will on November 12 give its ruling in the case in which the Labour commission is seeking an order to compel striking polytechnic teachers to return to work and submit themselves to compulsory arbitration. The NLC also wants the court to declare the strike illegal. Lawyers for POTAG argue that the association has issues with the Fair Wages Commission because it had failed to provide a roadmap for negotiations. Deputy Education Minister, Dr J.S Annan has given assurances that the three week-long strike would not result in the closure of the country’s polytechnics.
