The Police in Teshie Nungua, a suburb of Accra are investigating complaints by some teachers in a school in the area that they have been physically and verbally assaulted by their supervisor.
The Circuit Supervisor (CS), named as Ivy Appau, is alleged to have occasionally slapped the teachers at the LEKMA Southern Cluster of Schools at Teshie.
One of the complainants, Steven Agyeman said he was slapped and heckled by the Circuit Supervisor when he said before an auditor that he had not been instructed to collect levies from students.
His statement appeared to have contradicted something she told the auditor, attracting some abuse in the process.
Another complainant, who wants to remain anonymous told Joy News, that those who spoke out against the actions of the supervisor have been transferred.
He claimed he had on several occasions been a victim of the verbal abuses of the CS.
Meanwhile, the supervisor, Ivy Appau declined comment on the alleged assault.
