The Fair Wages Commission is blaming leaders of the National Association of Graduate Teachers for the delay in migrating graduate teachers onto the single spine salary structure.
NAGRAT members in the Brong-Ahafo region yesterday embarked on a protest to lash out at the government for allegedly not paying attention to their concerns.
The teachers say they are disappointed at the snail pace at which education authorities are working to move them onto the new pay policy.
National NAGRAT leaders have indicated that they still stand by an earlier threat to embark on a strike if they are not migrated onto the structure by the end of December.
But Chief Executive of the Fair Wages Commission, George Smith Graham says the teachers don’t have a case.
He told Joy News their leaders have failed to provide accurate data to facilitate the process.
He said NAGRAT leaders were disputing “the grading structure that has been given to us, that we are using for the migration.”
Mr Graham said the teachers had failed to make their own available to the commission since July when they trained on collecting the data.
He contended that the blame for the delay should therefore be placed squarely at the doorstep of the NAGRAT leaders.
