The much anticipated Radio and Television Personality Awards was launched at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra Saturday. The awards is the brainchild of Xtertic UK and Big Events GH and it is aimed at awarding personalities who have over the years contributed immensely towards the development of radio and Television in Ghana. Organisers say the Radio and Television industry which plays a major developmental role in Ghana has been overlooked for a very long time and the awards will seek to award those who have informed, inspired and entertained the general populace with their programmes. The launch was attended by some of the country’s renowned and finest radio and television personalities, including Tommy Annan Forson of Joy FM, Lexis Bills and Kwame Bee of Hitz FM and Jon Germain of X FM. There are Five Honorary, Six non-competitive categories and 26 categories of awards to be awarded on the awards night soon to be announced. A list of personalities nominated for the various categories will also be released later.
