Reports gathered from the Ghana Refugee Board indicate that about 50 Ivorian nationals have registered to seek asylum in Ghana from the Ivorian crisis.
Among the 50 families are 31 families numbering four or less, 10 foreigners residing in the Ivory coast and nine individuals.
According to Programme Coordinator of the Ghana Refugee Board, Mr. Tetteh Paddi, the refugees have not been camped and are also fending for themselves. The board will step in should they require help.
Mr. Paddi told Adom News the board is ready to gather the refugees in camps should their numbers require so, explaining that in the meantime they are being monitored closely.
In a related development, the Western Regional NADMO coordinator, Mr Japheth Baidoo has observed that the number of Ivorians in the region has increased.
Mr. Baidoo said they are located in Takoradi, Tarkwa and Agona Nkwanta.
He said however they have not been registered as refugees.
