Organisers of the 233 Connect Fabolous concert have announced that two of Nigeria’s hottest selling artistes Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince and Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, WizKid, will be part of the international legion of performers at the concert.
This puts to rest questions about which Nigerian artistes are to feature at the April 23rd, Easter Saturday show.
The inclusion of the two artistes is sure to generate excitement among their loyal fan base in Ghana. Ice Prince is famed in Ghana and on the continent for his Oleku club-banging track, whilst WizKid is an extraordinary singer whose style makes him one of the industry’s fast-rising acts.
Both artistes have an impressive resume that squares up to any other in the industry and bringing them to the 233 Connect concert, emphasizes the importance the organizers have attached to the event.
Ice Prince is signed to Chocolate City Records. In 2004, he released his debut EP Extraordinary, followed by Rewind in 2009.
He won the maiden edition of Hennessy’s Artistry competition in 2009 in Nigeria and released his Oleku track a year after. Since its release, the song has received heavy rotation across board, making him one of the most sought-after artistes on the continent.
He has featured on songs of over a dozen artistes including label mates M.I. and Jesse Jagzto as well as Banky W, YQ, eLDee, Naeto C, Dekunle Fuji, Kel, Gino, Terry Tha Rapman, Sauce Kid, Djinee, Mo Cheddah and WizKid among others.
Wizkid is signed under Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment. His 2011 single Don’t Dull is receiving great reviews across the globe. He has collaborated with several Nigerian acts such as Kel, Dipp, Eva, Lynxxx and Teeto and recently performed at the 2010 Soundcity Music Awards.
