The annual JOY FM Easter Soup Kitchen comes off on Easter Sunday, 24th April, 2011 from 7am to 5pm at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park.
The event which enjoys enormous support of corporate Ghana and numerous donors, has seen Ghana’s leading media house, JOY 99.7 FM bring meaning, love and care to some 60,000 street and needy children in the society over the past fourteen years.
According to Head of Sales & Marketing at Joy FM, David Max-Fugar, the 2011 Easter Soup Kitchen will among other things, seek to provide hot meals for no less than 20,000 street children, provide medical care, clothing, counseling and mentoring for many underprivileged children as well as select and sponsor 10 of the kids to acquire skills.
The station is therefore appealing to its numerous sponsors and other public spirited individuals and institutions that it is once again time to support and feed the hungry, clothe, entertain and counsel the less fortunate in the society.
Donations can be in cash or kind (food items and clothing) and will be duly acknowledged on air.
