The world may soon face a global food and fuel crises similar to that experienced in 2008, if governments do not quickly move to instill interventions to boost food production. World Bank President Robert Zoellick says unless regional groups and multilateral organizations quickly institute programmes to boost food production, rising prices could soon worsen the plight of the poor. Food prices have risen by about 36% and are now close to all time high prices of 2008. Speaking to JOYBUSINESS’ Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, Mr Zoellick said the time for governments and international bodies to act is now.
