He was speaking in an interview with Adom News.
The Trust, known as Nungua Development Trust is to manage approximately 300 acres of land, which the government released to the chiefs and people of Nungua last year.
According to the Mr. Wradi Keda, the University project will start next year.
A nine-member committee will meet on Monday to start implementing the plans.
The committee is made up of Prof. Joshua Alabi – Rector of the Institute of Professional Studies (chairman), Justice Nii Afla Aryeetey, Justice Florence Naki Otoo, Rev. Ebenezer Tettey, Rev Joseph Ayitey, Abraham Bortey, Peter Kpakpo, Alabie Bortey and Borketey-la Bortei
Inaugurating the Trust, the Chief of Nungua, King Odaifio Welentsi II urged the members to consider setting up the university in the town to enhance education and an educational fund to provide scholarship to needy but brilliant students from the area.
King Odaifio Welentsi II urged members of the Trust to look at the possibility of establishing a hospital complex in the town and another Senior High School to enable more students from the town to have access to secondary education.
He appealed to indigenes of Nungua to co-operate with members of the Trust to enable them execute the responsibilities placed upon their shoulders for their own benefit.
