Nigerian entertainment news website, Nigeriafilms.com is reporting that burial plans for the late veteran Nollywood actor Ashley Nwosu who passed away April 21 has been finalised.
The late actor died at a Military Hospital in Yaba, Nigeria after he fell in coma and was rushed there.
Nollywood and the African movie industry were thrown into a state of mourning with several movie greats expressing shock and grief at his passing.
Notable among them was the National President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Segun Arinze who said Ashley Nwosu's death was a great loss to Nollywood and Nigeria.
“We have lost yet another fantastic actor. We are going to miss him definitely, because he represented a bundle of talent. It is a rather unfortunate incident. Aside Nollywood, the entire nation will also miss him,” Arinze said.
Nigeriafilms.com is reporting that he will be buried next month in his home town in Abia state, on June 11.
His colleagues, friends and well wishers based in Lagos will host a special service of songs for the deceased on that same day at Country Club in Ikoyi, Lagos.
One of Nollywood’s first generation actors, Ashley Nwosu most often played the role of Husband, Dad, Pimp or ‘Sugar Daddy’ bringing to bare his sheer excellence and talent on movie screens.
He has starred in countless number of movies including; Endless Night, Between Two Walls, Power Brokers, Foreign Affairs, Gift from the Grave, Lagos Babes and Ghetto Love.
