Authorities of the University of Ghana have stopped a planned protest by students.
The students gathered this morning to stage a protest march on campus against poor facilities but were stopped by a directive from the university.
JCR President of Commonwealth Hall, William Nii Tackie Yarboi told Joy News students have been shortchanged.
He said the hall lacked rooms and where there are rooms, “there are no wardrobes, you go to rooms where there are no desks, you go to rooms where students are lying on bare mattresses, without beds. How do you expect academic work to go on very well?” he asked.
Mr Yarboi served notice if the authorities do not take any steps to reverse the situation latest by Wednesday, this week, “we are going to make campus something else.”
