The people of Asante Asokore traditional area in the Ashanti Region are currently living in fear following the invasion of the place by some wild animals.
For about two weeks now, some weird animals have been terrorising residents of the ancient traditional area compelling the people to live in a state of constant fear and uncertainty.
The animals that have been storming the historic traditional town on daily basis in the night have been attacking domestic animals.
Always appearing between 9:30 pm and 10pm, the fearful animals have being launching a deadly assault on livestock, killing them in the process.
After killing the defenseless livestock which are mainly sheep, the wild animals only suck their blood leaving them dead and the carcass untouched.
Briefing Daily Guide about the strange occurrence, Opanin Kwaku Brentuo, spokesperson of the Ekuona Akwamaso royal gate, said the wild animals that always numbered about six barked like a tiger when they appeared in the town.
The animals which moved from pen to pen in search of sheep to kill and suck their blood had the resembled a tiger but the only difference was that they had more hair than the tiger.
He pointed out that residents had been helplessly watching the rampaging animals that had so far killed a countless number of livestock in the area.
Residents have been compelled to abandon their respective businesses in the evening and be indoors to avoid being attacked by the animals.
Saying that normal activities in the area had been negatively affected by the development, the man felt that the calamity might have befallen them because certain actions or inactions on the part of the people had desecrated the area.
Opanin Brentuo said the chiefs and elders in the town embarked on a spiritual journey and realised that the area had indeed been desecrated by certain activities which he refused to disclose.
He pointed out that in their spiritual consultation; it was revealed to them that should they fail to carry out series of rituals to pacify the gods, the wild animals would continue to terrorise the residents.
In view of that, Opanin Brentuo said they intended to start a series of pacification rituals ordered by their spiritualists on Sunday but could not do so following the torrential rainfall which hit the area from early morning.
Stressing that several sheep would be slaughtered in addition to other rituals to pacify the angry gods, the royal entreated people in the area to remain calm as the chiefs and elders would do everything possible to stop the looming disaster.
