Incoming President of the Musicians Union of Ghana, (MUSIGA) Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour has paid a courtesy call on the management and staff of Hitz 103.7 FM. He expressed gratitude to the nation's entertainment mouthpiece for the role they played in ensuring a successful congress.
Obour was in the company of the newly elected executives of MUSIGA who will officially assume office on September 8. They included Deborah Freeman, General Secretary; Chizzy Wailer, National Organizer; Nana Yaw Osei Danquah, Communication Manager; Rev Fiifi Khan and Ras Appiah Levi.
Obour won the MUSIGA presidency at the congress in Tamale on August 18th with about half of the delegates affirming their trust in his 7-point agenda for the union. The agenda contained in his manifesto‘AJUMAPA’ which is an acronym for: Administration, Jobs, Unity, Music business, Ageing, Policies and Achievements.
It was in this light that Obuor and his executives visited the premises of Hitz FM to show appreciation for the media house's unflinching support for the union.
Obour has since his election hit the ground running, days before he is officially inaugurated, meeting all the aspirants in the election to discuss the way forward for the union. He has also appointed fellow hiplife musician, Okyeame Kwame as the Spokesperson for the Union.
After the visit to Hitz FM, the MUSIGA entourage paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam to introduce themselves to him and also ask for Allah's blessings for the leadership of the musicians union.
Obour also indicated that plans are underway to ensure a smooth handing over from the Diana Hopeson-led administration. The ceremony which is slated for September 8 will see stakeholders in the music industry, officials from the Ministry of Chieftancy and Culture, musicians, media, advocates and invited persons converge at the MUSIGA Auditorium at 10:30am.
The inauguration will be followed by Obuor’s first press conference since his election.
Obour assured Ghanaians that the Union is more united than ever and has the cooperation of all his colleagues who contested the Presidential elections with him.
