Rapper Ayigbe Edem has now affirmed to Myjoyonline.com that his much anticipated second album, Mass Production, will finally be launched Friday, December 16 in Tarkoradi.
The rapper, who had earlier planned an October 29 launch date in Accra but was forced to postpone it due to unforeseen circumstances says he is set to go and there is no turning back this time around.
Ayigbe Edem, whose album launch is coming with a new name, Edem, told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that Mass Production will be launched at the Paragon Nite Club at the heart of the Oil City - Tarkoradi.
He said the change of location is due to the fact that he feels “as an artiste, my activities got to touch all and sundry. So with Mass Production, we will try everything we can to reach all Ghanaians with a launch package.”
Edem revealed that he will be performing all 13 songs on the album at the club. Several artistes including rapper Gemini, and Atumpan of The Thing fame are expected to perform at the event.
The video of his hit reggae song, Ghetto Arise, will also be premiered at the club. Fans have the opportunity of winning goodies on the night including airtime.
The Tarkoradi launch is the first phase of many other activities lined up for the launch. On December 17, Edem will join students of the Ho Polytechnic in the Volta Region to celebrate their Student’ Representative Council (SRC) Week Celebration. He will perform at the school and also sign autographs for the students.
From the Volta regional capital, Edem will hold a radio launch of the album in Accra on December 26 - Boxing Day – on Hitz 103.7FM. Interestingly, the artiste will host the show and will also use the opportunity to unravel every song on the album. Said he; “all my fans will get to hear the songs back-to-back and also get the history behind each song.”
The radio launch will be followed by a press conference at the Rockstone Office on December 28 followed by an album unveiling night at the Barcadis Nite Club on December 31. Artistes- Reggie Rockstone, Okyeame Kwame, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Asem, Sarkodie and a host of others will be attending that event.
On January 2, 2012, Edem heads to the Mustang Beach to meet up with his fans and also play football with them. Apart from Edem, Captain Planet, Cash Unit and others artistes will perform at that event. The fun time at the beach will be preceded by a thanksgiving church service on January 1, 2012.
