After seven long weeks intense competition, Monica Ogah has emerged winner of the season 4 sensational music talent hunt reality TV show; MTN Project Fame West Africa.
Monica beat five others to clinch the winning prize of a mouth watering recording contract, brand new RAV 4 jeep and 2.5 million naira.
The bubbly singer was announced the winner during the MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 4 grand finale aired on national television on Sunday.
14 hopefuls - 11 Nigerians, a Ghanaian, a Liberian and a Sierra Leonian - who were eyeing the ultimate prize had to endure weeks of competitions and painful evictions.
After those weeks of competitions and evictions, six contestants, Ese Ahotwin, Ethel Eshun, Monica Ogah, Roy Egekwu, Ruth Ohama and Yvonne Denobis made it to the finale night.
Monica’s total prize money is a whooping 7 million naira. She is the second female to win the singing competition following massive votes that poured her way from ecstatic fans.
Roy Egekwu was 1st runner up. He takes home 1.5 million naira and a Toyota Corolla saloon car.
Ethel Eshun, the Ghanaian hopeful born June 7, 1992 in Accra, emerged the 3rd runner up while 25-year-old Ese Ahotwin became the 2nd runner up.
Monica aged 22, says she started singing early in life and has found fulfillment in it. She totally adores artistes like Brandy, Tiwa Savage, Stella Damascus, Asa and Majid Michel.
She is the last born of a family of five boys and two girls and has a go-get-it outlook that perhaps stuck her quickly to her fans.
The journey however isn’t over for Monica. Unlike other budding artistes in the music industry, she needs to take advantage of this victory to launch herself into the industry by recording a hit single.
Anything short of this may make her a quick flash in the pan, if the experiences of former winners of such talent hunt shows are anything to go by.
