Highlife artiste Akwasi Opoku a.k.a Kwaisey Pee will kick start his much anticipated tour this February with a lovers night concert on Saturday February 11 at the National Theatre.
The nationwide tour which was originally scheduled to have started on November 26, 2011 was to serve as a precursor to the launch of Kwaisey’s fifth studio album – “Konadu”.
The highlife crooner who has had to make changes to his tour date says he will set the tour off with a special concert for lovers on February 11 which will be supported by some of Ghana’s finest ballad singers including Kwabena Kwabena, Nana Fynn, Efya, K.K Fosu and Nana Tuffour.
With February bearing the enviable accolade of the “month of love”, it is expected that the lovers’ night concert will serve as the right avenue for Kwaisey Pee to introduce his teaming fans to his latest work of art.
Kwaisey’s nationwide tour to promote his “Konadu” album will take him through all 10 regions with specific focus on 7 selected districts aside the regional capitals where he is due to perform.
Born to legendary music icon, Agyeiku, Kwaisey Pee started plying his music trade in the United Kingdom with his late father in the early 1990’s. He has over the years mastered the art and has alreadu churned out 4 great albums; ‘Krokro Me’ released in 2000, ‘Akonor Yaa’ in2003, ‘Nyane Me’ released in2006, and ‘Kume Preko’ which came out in 2009.
His fifth album titled ‘Konadu’ which is a ten-track album will be unveiled to the public in the course of Kwaisey’s nationwide tour. It features hiplife artistes such as Tinny, an upcoming act simply called Syn and Fresh Prince of 4x4 fame on the song “She Ahwenee” which loosely translates as “wear beads”.
He told HITZ TV the ‘Konadu’ album will be released onto the market by the end of February.
Organisers of the lovers’ night concert are promising a surprise treat on the night. The Pre Valentine Show is sponsored by VITAMILK.
